Every year we run a series of events for our members.
The main event of the year is the Annual Excursion. This is a great opportunity to meet other members, see some beautiful parts of the country and talk informally about woodland matters. It is generally held in the spring, usually from a Wednesday to a Saturday. We are friendly and approachable and everyone is made to feel welcome. People join the NWDG as individuals, rather than as representatives of an organisation, so the opinions expressed at the Excursion are personal rather than corporate, leading to some interesting discussion.
Land owners and managers also benefit from having a group of experts visit and discuss their woodlands.

WOODLAND HISTORY CONFERENCE
In October or November we hold our annual Woodland History Conference. This is an indoor event taking place over one day, and gives members the chance to hear about the ways in which our woods have been shaped by history and how this may inform plans for current and future management and use.
Click on the Conference sub-page to find out more.
We also run workshops, over one or two days, on subjects suggested by members.
Click on the Workshops sub-page for more information about workshops.
